Ingredients
  • 2,750-ml bottles full-body red wine
  • 3 1/2cups apple cider
  • 1/3cup honey
  • 2 clementines
  • 14 cinnamon sticksreserve 10 for garnish
  • 20whole cloves
  • star aniseoptional garnish for each cup of mulled wine
  • clementine or orange zestfor garnish
Instructions
  1. Press the pointed stem end of 10 cloves into each whole clementine skin.
  2. In a stockpot, combine wine, apple cider, honey, clementines, 4 cinnamon sticks and star anise. Over medium heat, bring to a simmer and reduce to medium-low for 20 minutes, simmering gently. Stir once while simmering.
  3. Ladle into mugs. Garnish each cup of mulled wine with a cinnamon stick, orange zest and star anise if desired.
