Easy Brioche French Toast

Ingredients
  • 8slices brioche bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4cup milk
  • 1tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmegoptional
  • 1/4teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2cup pure maple syrup
  • powdered sugaroptional garnish
  • buttermelted in skillet or griddle for browning brioche slices
Instructions
  1. In a shallow baking dish or pie plate, combine eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  2. Whisk to combine.
  3. In a large skillet or griddle, melt a pat of butter over medium heat.
  4. Dip each side of bread in egg and milk mixture. Soak each side. Place in skillet or on griddle.
  5. Brown the slices until golden on each side, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. If cooking in two batches, off heat wipe pan clean between batches with a paper towel. Add a new pat of butter and melt prior to browning second batch. Serve immediately with butter, powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Recipe Notes

French toast can be kept warm on a baking sheet in an oven at 175 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t hold too long in oven or French Toast will become dry. Freeze leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in a freezer bag. Reheat slices in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 5-7 minutes.
