Easy Homemade Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
  • 2-2 1/2cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4cup warm water100-110 degrees Fahrenheit, check temperature with an instant read thermometer
  • 2packages active dry yeast4 1/2 teaspoons
  • 2tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons buttermelted and cooled, plus 1 tablespoon for brushing rolls after cooking
  • 1/2teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, butter, water/yeast mixture and salt. With a wooden spoon or rubber spatula, stir to combine. Add additional flour if needed to form a soft dough.
  3. Place dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead dough for about 5 minutes. Place back in large bowl. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. With a bench scraper or knife, divide dough in half. Continue dividing evenly until you have 8 pieces. Roll into balls. Place in a buttered pie dish or round baking dish. Cover and let rise 45 minutes to an hour.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter.
