Crunchy Chickpeas: Guiltless Snacking at Its Best

Looking for easy and healthy snacks to make? A gluten-free soup or salad topper?

You’ll love these barbecue spiced crunchy chickpeas. We like them best right out of the oven when they’re warm and crispy.

The spice options are endless, but you can never go wrong with a good barbecue spice blend.

TIP: Wait to add your spices until just after roasting to avoid burning them.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas. Place chickpeas on several layers of paper towels. Cover with more paper towels. Gently roll and blot chickpeas to dry. Discard any loose skin that comes off when drying chickpeas.
  3. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, distribute the chickpeas in an even layer. Drizzle with olive oil. Toss with hands to coat. Shake pan to redistribute in an even layer.Roast for 25 to 30 minutes. Every 10 to 15 minutes, shake pan to ensure even roasting.
  4. The chickpeas are ready when the exterior is crisp and skin has darkened, but not burned. Toss immediately with barbecue spice blend. Season with salt to taste. Serve immediately to maintain and enjoy crunch.
Recipe Notes

Check ingredients and/or manufacturer's website to ensure herbs and spices are gluten free.

To reheat and "re-crunchify" the chickpeas, warm in a pre-heated 400 degree oven for 2-3 minutes.
